What is "Herbal Viagra?" PDF Print E-mail

You may see online pharmacies that sell various versions of Viagra, however, the FDA has not approved any other version of Viagra other than genuine Viagra manufactured by Pfizer.

You may see “herbal Viagra,” “Viagra soft-tabs,”  “Viagra Professional,” or even Viagra gels or jellies. The manufacturers of these items do not have the permission of Pfizer, the manufacturer of genuine Viagra, to use the Viagra trademark. These medications are therefore illegal in the United States.

You will also see "generic" Viagra on many foreign websites. No "generic" form of Viagra has been approved by the FDA either, which renders it illegal in the U.S. "Generic" Viagra is often manufactured in China or India and these counterfeit pills can be manufactured in unsanitary conditions. They may contain too little or too much active ingredient, and they may contain outside, unknown ingredients that in some cases are harmful to consume. Everyone wants to save money, but ingesting unknown medicinal contents is not a gamble anyone should take for any reason.

Although Pfizer has teamed with U.S. Federal authorities to help thwart the unlawful sale of non-genuine Viagra products, it is often very expensive and difficult to locate illegal drug operations in foreign countries.
